Import GTA IV car in Blender

As there is no GTA IV or GTA V import/export plugins available yet, i 'd like to share my workarounds to import the cars or at least anything from the WFT files in Blender.

To import WFT (GTAIV) files, you will need SparkIV (respective credit to Aru), first, to convert the car geometry with materials, bones and unassigned vertex groups to SMD. (Valve Source) I suggest you to export multiple geometries in different files.

To import SMD in Blender, you will need Valve Source Tools. (with respective credit to Valve Source Development Team)

In my case, Blender 2.75 with Valve Source Tools 2.5.3 and SparkIV 0.6.6 produced the following scene:

There are issues with vertex groups, that can’t be selected, though, in my case, i selected the car parts by geometries and materials.
