Recover Dope Sheet Key Frames after creating NLA strip

When I push an action into the NLA I lose all my key frames in my Dope Sheet. I’m trying to isolate left arm movements from right arm movements so that I can paste the X-flipped pose to the other arm as separate NLA animations. How do I do this?

Select the strip in your NLA and press TAB (the equivalent of “Edit Mode”) and you’ll see the keyframes reappear in your Dope Sheet. From there you can edit them to your heart’s content.
