Project vertices from low poly to high poly

I have a low poly and a high poly mesh. Now I want to project/snap some of the low poly vertices (along their vertex normals) on to the high poly surface, so they better match the high poly model. Does blender currently support this or would I have to write an addon?

I know there’s snap to mesh, but I don’t want to individually snap each vertex manually.

Ah, I think the shrink wrap modifier does this. Awesome!
