Does blender now make 2 backup files?
Blend 1 and 2?
I have a gb of blend2 files and am considering deleting them.
Clicking on a blend1 files opens it.
But not blend2 files.

where on that page does it say HOW to open a blend2 file?
do I just rename it?

File / Open , turn off any filtering in the file browser window.
Alternatively just rename the file to xxxx.blend.
It’s only a normal blend file with 2 added to the end
