Apply mesh displacement using height map

Hi guys, how are you doing?

Is it possible to acctually displace a geometry using a map? I´m thinking of doing that on scanned models for 3d printing. Let´s say I have a displacement map, I want to use it to enhance the details on the model, not like we do for render, do you know what I mean?

You’re likely going to want to combine the Displacement modifier with the Subdivision Surface modifier. That’s one way.

Use the displace modifier. Once it is setup, you can apply the effect to the mesh itself.
