Can Blender save PNGs as non-color data?

I’m baking normal maps using Cycles, and setting the Color Space to ‘Non-Color’ as normal maps should be, but when I save the image out as a PNG (or any other format), the Color Space dropdown has switched itself back to sRGB. Switching it back to Non-Color applies unwanted gamma correction to the normal map. See attached picture to see what I mean.

What gives? Is Blender saving my normal maps as Non-Color or sRGB?

setting the Color Space to ‘Non-Color’ as normal maps should be
concerns how you read image data (node editor, Image Texture), not how you bake/save, afaik. sRGB should be fine.
