Problem rendering bump mapped surfaces

As I was recently working working with Blender Internal, I noticed problems in the reflections of bump mapped objects. When there are no bump maps, the reflection is perfect, but as soon as I turn on bump mapping, it is incorrect. Is this normal, and can I avoid this problem in BI without giving up bump maps?

Change the bump mapping method to ‘Original’ or ‘Compatible’

Ah, I see. When I tried this myself I was wondering why I wasn’t seeing any bump mapping on original or compatible, turns out I just have to turn the bump strengh far higher to achieve the same effect. Thanks.
