Cthulhu Fhtagn

As the title suggests, it’s inspired by my recent reading of The New Annotated H. P. Lovecraft. Also features the most sophisticated piece of sculpting I’ve ever done in Blender to date: that green Cthulhu figure. For the life of me, I could not replicate the statue by Corinne Crowe pictured in the book: I’m no sculptor and will never be. Besides, to be honest, I’m not a great fan of Lovecraft and can’t share his fear of just about anything different Out There, but that’s by the by. Oh, and I used the pictures of the real frescoes of Gobekli Tepe: I hope 11,000 years is enough for any copyright to expire… although one can outdo Lovecraft imagining the ways the copy-wronged souls of the authors might take to express their outrage.
