A noise issue.

Hi. Thanks for reading this.

When I render animations using Cycles, it’s as if there’s noise on the camera lens. Hopefully that makes sense. The noise seems be equal over all objects when the camera moves. I optimized the render settings [I think], No Caustics, Max Bounces 4, Filter Glossy 1, Multiple Importance on the light mesh.

I think my Samples, 12 squared :(, are the problem. Would that cause a wash of noise?

About reducing noise:

Noise patterns in Cycles are indeed static by default, which can look a bit weird in animations. To change this, You can animate the seed value for the noise in the Sampling tab:

If you type #frame in the input box for the seed, Blender will use the current frame number as seed number. The input box will turn to a pinkish colour to indicate the seed is now driven by another value. This will not reduce the noise, but it will make the noise dynamic so it looks a bit like e. g. film grain and is much less prominent.
