Cycles Shadow Pass not working

Hi everyone.

I’m working on a composite of a crystal Dragon (from one of my favourite video games) in an actual photo but first I have to to sort out an alpha PNG to go on top of the photo.

I’ve been trying to do a shadow pass in the node editor but it doesn’t seem to be carrying over to the final render. The weird thing is that it seems to work fine in the backdrop even though both the composite and viewer nodes are linked to the same point. The compositing box is also checked in Scene panel so the effect should have been rendered…

Does anyone have an idea why my shadow pass isn’t working?

This is a screenshot with my node set up: You can see that the shadow shows in the backdrop but not the render. Also I tried to attach my blend file but for some reason the site wouldn’t upload it :confused:

You might be viewing the render layer result on the bottom left corner instead of composite. Scroll the header until you see which layer is shown (middle mouse drag)

Must try harder. Could try pasteall.org as an alternative. Upload instructions linked in my signature.
