Is it possible to record sotft body or clothes physics to keyframes or shape keys ?

I would know if it is possible to record the soft body or clothes physics to keyframes or shape keys ?

It seems it is possible to do this for hard bodies physics…

The aim is to calculate eg a flag movement in the wind then get it as an animation that can be used in a game engine.
It is possible to bake ONE shape key, but it will record only one of the multiple frames calculated by the physics solver.

I tried to use the animAll addon, but it seems not to get any records (object or vertex positions) from the physics solver.

Any idea on this problem … ?:no:

  1. Save a new version of blend.
  2. File, user prefs, type ‘light’ into search, and find ‘import-export: import lightwave objects’
  3. Select your flag, already baked
  4. File, export, lightwave point cache, save the file as flag.mdd
  5. With the flag still selected, file, import, lightwave point cache and select flag.mdd
  6. The flag’s now has a shape key for every single frame
  7. Delete the cloth sim
