Where are the Diffuse and Specular Windows under the Materials Tab?

Hi,

So I’ve been working through the Blender documentation, and just got to the section on materials(I’m here). Near the end, when you’re supposed to modify the diffuse and specular values to make the material look more gooey, I can’t find the Diffuse and Specular windows where they’re supposed to be, which is, according to Google, right below the Preview window. I don’t think I messed with anything there, so I’m pretty stumped. Any help is greatly appreciated.

You are currently working with the Cycles renderer.
According to the tutorial, with the Factory settings, you are in Blender render.
Just switch the renderer in the top menu bar.

Hi

They are there…

Click the settings arrow to open settings…Now You can see viewport Color and viewport Specular.
Below Specular there are Hardness use it to set the Specular strength.

Left click the color below viewport Color click the eyedropper icon in the palette and pick the color from the surface settings…
You can also play with the light settings…They are in You user prefferences.

PS…You have to be in Cycles render
