Pretty much everything could be improved in the image.
Biggest problem is that you have made the image dark and have too many high contrast points all over the place. None of them fit in it because those are where the viewers look first and once their eyes have rolled around few times, there’s nothing left, which is the second big problem;
Everything except the tree are too flat. There aren’t enough changes in value to make the forms look 3 dimensional nor to separate elements from each other.
Value component of the image. On a grayscale gradient from black to white, first 1/5 of that are used on 90% of the image. The rest are all the glowy things.
Still not great but hopefully shows that introducing value change makes everything read better - Forms are 3D and each element in the image have a place in the 3D canvas. I didn’t do much overpaint, just took distracting glowy things out and gave the guy a torch. Now we can see that he’s shaking his fist to the creature because he forgot his sword.
Could also redesign the elements in the image. The creature could be better, one tree doesn’t make a forest and it looks a bit strange that everything is on a flat and mown lawn.
