hi, i have some weird issues with the unwrapping process, and cant pinpoint the issue of it at all. in the second picture the uv just shifts to the right despite the surface being perfectly straight…
does anybody have an idea what could be causing this ?
In Object Mode, the object has been rotated/scaled at some points without applying rotations, this can impact many tools, so CTRL+A -> Apply Scale/Rotation in Object Mode
then in Edit Mode , select the parts giving problem, then W -> Remove Doubles and CTRL+ N to recalculate normals
unwrap
If problem is still there, just after pressing the unwrap command, press F6 (or look in the operator panel, bottom of the toolshelf to the left of the 3DView) and change the Unwrap mode to Conformal/Angle Based to see if it unwrap better
If nothing is better, upload the blend so someone can give a closer look.
