[SOLVED] Overlaying 2D planes on 3D clip, motion-tracked to 3D objects.

I’m creating something similar to a GPS/Google Maps type animation; where there’s a 3D map, and the type remains 2D, as if laid over the clip. Which is actually how I’m achieving it right now:

I’ve exported the hazard markers and the camera as an After Effects jsx file, and done the tracking in AE. I’m positive there’s a way to knock this out in Blender, but I’m somewhat at a loss.

Tracking/aligning these planes to the camera does not do the trick, they’re still within perspective of the camera.

Is there maybe a way to duplicate the entire scene, and then use a second camera that’s orthographic?

SO, I think I’ve figured out what I’m asking. I want the rotation, (x, y and z) of the signs to be the same as the camera, so that when the camera’s angle changes, the sign’s face will match the camera’s lens. Right? SO it’s not pointing at the camera, it’s mirroring the rotation.

Hmm. Gonna try that.

Well, DUH I figured it out.

Adding the constraint of Copy Rotation of the camera did it for me. No need to track to the camera at all.

The size still changes, but I can live with that.
