Can't go back to single-image render

I’m sure this is going to be embarrassingly simple, but right now I’m stumped.

I’m using Blender 2.74 on Win7/64. I just finished rendering an animation of my model doing a rotation over 200 frames. But now, I can’t go back to a simple render. Whenever I hit F12, I get one of the frames from the animation. Instantly, so it’s obviously just pulling it from disk. If I remove all the animation images, I get a blank render.

I’m sure there’s some checkbox or something somewhere, but I can’t find it.

Check you have nothing loaded in the video sequencer or compositor that will over ride the scene render
In the Render / Post Processing disable ‘Sequencer’ / ‘Compositing’ if you don’t need to use either

It was the Video Sequence Editor. Had to erase the “strips”, then it all started working. Thanks.

Unfortunately, my setting up of the animation rendering was reminiscent of Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson in Zoolander, in that scene with the computer. Have no idea what I’m doing, I just followed some instructions from the intertoobs. So now it’s fixed and I have no idea why. Oy.
