for physically based materials, I’m just curious if/how you would/should hook up a translucent shader with a glass shader.
Anyone?

for what? it depends on what you want to make.
i have never heard about mixing glass and translucent shaders, but sure it might work for something. try it out. add a sphere and set up a basic scene and studio lights, and add the materials to see what resoults you get. a such simple setup will let you play with the values really quicky and smoothly.
Such a combo may work for various transparent plastic materials (such as the type used in shampoo bottles and the like).
For actual glass though, not so much, if you need a real frosted effect then it’s better to use a volume scatter shader.
Cigar smoking dude my understanding is if you want a shadow on the backside of the glass yes a transparent node is in order. But, not a translucent one. I don’t believe I’ve ever seen a translucent node with a glass node anywhere.
So I think I’ll add the option for it in my shader.
Volume scatter sounds cool, how do I get both volume scatter and density, just add?
