how to stop and start camera tracking in blender

hello,

i want to have the camera start following a path and then have the camera stop and start again. any suggestions? i would love the help.
thanks:D

hi. I’ve always had problems with the follow path constraint. I probably just never took the time to really learn it well.
Anyway, a good workaround is to make your path, then place a sphere or cube at the origin of that path. Throw a follow path constraint on it, set it to the path you created then just use the ‘offset’ to animate it. Put a ‘child of’ constraint on your camera to the sphere or cube and let it follow the cube which is following the path. You can then add any additional rotation to the camera as you see fit.
The ‘follow path’ constraint never really worked too well for me if I just throw it on a camera. Perhaps someone here can give you advice on how to do it by just constraining the camera to the path and animating with the ‘offset’.

thank you ill try that

Make a curve path. select camera shift select the curve then ctrl p, curve path or in the constraints. In the graph editor delete the straight curve for the bezier curve path, N key then just x the generator. ctrl click to ad new curve and segments . when your curve advances up the camera will go forward. When the curve is flat from left to right the camera will not move. when the curve goes down the camera will go backward. in properties under the curve icon you can change the evaluation time in frames. defult will be 100 frames.
