How would you model this alarm panel?

Hi,

How would you go about modeling this old alarm panel?
I mean all the rounded areas, buttons and the skewed rounded parts on the front.
I’ve been away from modeling for a long time and are completely stuck in though process.
It’s just for the learning of doing weird angles with soft/hard surfaces with holes/buttons like this old picture.

If anyone would have a video tut about similar shapes it would be fantastic.

Cheers

Not that hard, you need more references images though (of the back and from the side)

It’s hard to see if the numbers are on a flat surface or a slightly curved surface.

Hi,

There are no other photos, that’s just an old photo.
It doesn’t have to look like the photo at all, i just want to get a grip on how to go about to make something similar.
Every part of it looks rounded, beveled, slanted and has holes for the buttons that sticks out slightly.
For some reason I’ve never learned how to model rounded and slanted shapes like that photo.

Thanks

you could start by adding a circle whit let say 64 verts t get smooth edges
then remove some verts to get like the edge of you box

then extrude a little top and bottom verts to get 1/2 of the face
you can add some faces

start something and show us where you end up!

happy bl

This is something i made quickly,it needs allot of cleaning up and tweaking but you get the basic idea.I;ll try and improve it when i have time.
