Trying to Import Source Model Textures into Blender

So I am quite frustrated. There are a scattered few tutorials around the internet explaining how I would import my TF2 model (the sandvich) into blender. I actually managed to get the model into blender, except now I have hit a roadblock. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to extract the textures from the .vtx format to a .tga and from there a .png. I have downloaded Nem’s Crafty, VTFEDIT, and GCFScape. When I try and load the extracted .vtx files into VTFEDIT, I get an error. I think it may be because I am trying to load a .vtx into a .vtf, but I can’t find a .vtf file anywhere. http://imgur.com/4tyGCfI is the error I am receiving.
So overall, I just cannot find a detailed enough tutorial to complete this, all I need is the texture for the sandvich in a blender compatible format. If anyone knows how to get it, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance!

Btw, Blender can use tga directly.
