runing blender on an external hd

hey guys i have a quick question. i need a tablet for some of my painting in the blender uv image editor, the local library has some. is there any way to install blender on an external hd and run it on one of these tablets without installing directly to the tablet??

Does the tablet have a 32bit processor and not arm?
And yes, you can. It may run much faster if you have a USB 3.0 HDD and if the tablet also has a USB 3.0 port.

if it is NOT a usb3 drive and usb3 port on the library computers
blender will be DEAD SLOW

i can almost BET the usb on the computers at the library are usb1 and some 2

also WHAT operating system are they using
?
if they are ARM cpu’s then the x86_64 MICROSOFT version will NOT run
if they are android, the x86_64 MICROSOFT version will NOT run
if they are ( a guess ) running Ubuntu linux, the x86_64 MICROSOFT version will NOT run.

so aside from those mitigating factrs it is possible?

i dont currently know havent seen it yet. but at least i know its theoretically possible thanks!

I ran off of a USB2 external drive for almost 4 years. Apart from a slightly (like, REALLY slight) slower startup, Blender won’t function any differently. What will be slower is loading/saving of .blend files and writing of large images and renders. Aside from that, Blender isn’t loading anything after startup, so there’s no reason for it to be any slower.
