Realistic texturing

A simple test image for my realistic texturing experiment.

wow…canu share me the nodes…u have used…?

Sure thing!

Yes I did use Andrew Price’s texture tutorial

Nice result, although I think the specularity could be toned a bit down, or colored.

The most impressive thing, though, is how simple is your node setup. Lately, the node trees look more like a jungle.

Yeah, I had an issue with that too. I will see about toning it down.

Here:

I think people do it that way to avoid the screams of those who are offended when conventional wisdom is breached.

I’ve often noticed that the simplest of approaches yield some of the best results. I keep my node networks as simple as possible as well, when the only things I add to them are for subtlety, however if that addition really makes no difference in the end as it is too subtle to notice, then I get rid of it. However if there is something slightly complex that needs to be done with layering multiple items, then the node networks get larger, but are driven by small, simple setups. I think there is a tendency to over think things a bit too much. Good job.
