Help with simple deform modifier

i want to create model like from this tutorial

but the result is always like this

can someone help me :confused: ?

See the blend file for 3 options

Left
Use an empty object os the bend origin

Middle
Reposition the object origin and adjust the bend limits

Right
Reposition the object origin and add the vertices you want to bend to a vertex group and don’t change the bend limits


Important: The object is bent around its local Z axis
