Increase Draw Distance Outside Camera Mode?

Since I’ve started using Blender, I’d always have that problem where if my maps were too large, it made editing them a pain in the ass.

(Like this, the skydome and plane are partially cut off ^)

I know a simple solution would be to shrink everything down, but even then really big maps will
eventually have this problem

Can I increase the view distance somewhere in the User Preferences?

I think the camera clipping setting should fix this. Increase the end amount to a larger amount however this may result in decreased performance. Alternatively you could use a “background” scene with the sky in it and a moving camera so you won’t run into this problem.

No, outside camera mode, so when you’re using the Scroll button to hover around and edit objects.
Don’t know if there’s a term for it… you can see the (only) camera is next to the plane in the screenshot

Properties panel >> View tab

Can’t believe I’m only finding out about this now!

Thank you Carlo! That’s the last place I woulda checked :]

You are welcome

I would say your scene is way too large ;).

Nevertheless sometimes I get the same problem but at the smaller range. Si I know now how to adjust the settings.
Thanks
