camera solving specs

I can usually manage to get a good solve with some fiddling, but sometimes the far away things get squashed toward the camera, and other weirdness. I suspect I could iron it out by entering the proper camera specs, but I don’t think the manufacturers specs are in the proper ‘language’ for blender to read. here are the specs from the manufacturer:
canon vixia mini:
*Lens
f=2.7mm, F/28

35mm-equivalent focal length ( ultra-wide )
Movies: 16.8mm Photos: 15.4mm

35mm-equivalent focal length ( close-up )
Movies: 35mm Photos: 32.1mm

*Focusing Distance
Deep focus, 0.4 m ( 1.3 ft ) to infinity

set the sensor width to 36mm, and then use the 35mm equivalent focal lengths: ultra-wide = 16.8mm, close-up = 35mm
