Hair particles placement consistent with mesh scaling

after adding the hair particles to the character (that come from makehuman) and made an nice hairstyle with the “comb tool” (particle editor mode) I had ran in this problems: if I scale the character, the hairstyle change into a mess.I would like to know if there’s something I can do to prevent this while scaling… possibly without losing the already drawn hairstyle or use the comb again.
