Once again I have to point your attention to a fact that Blender x32 and x64 crashes immediately upon starting or just after existing User preferences. Anybody knows a solution ? ))
Win 8.1 AND WIn 10 Tech.Prev. App log /pls DO NOT Comment its Win10 to blame 'cause had same problem w/Win8 AND 8.1 x64/:
Err…Windows 10 isn’t even officially released yet, all that’s out there is the preview.
It may or may not be too premature to already look at Windows 10 bugs because it might be due to something for Microsoft to fix, though it might be worth filing a bug report since a number of people are already using Windows 8.
Sure we re talking seriously. ive installed.
Once i tried method i found on net-ie. installed whole MSVC 2013 to have proper MSVCR but it didnt work either.
So what comes up in blendercrash.txt now, after you installed fresh MS stuff?
There should be such file in where your temp files are: \User(hidden)LocalSettings\Temp or something a like…
Also- your vid card and drivers? If nvidia, are drivers from MS in use or do you have them dnloaded from Nvidia?
Control panel -> Hardware used to show driver in use…
Hi bluecd, it does in one of the Windows mp directories.
You can try to start Blender from command shell (CMD) with “blender.exe --debug-all”
This give you most detailed output messages in terminal.
You can also try “blender.exe --factory-default”, this sometimes help if your setup files of Blender are compromised/broken.
Console(CMD) from which I started Blender stop with following:
(…)
trying to save userpref at C:\Users\blue\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blen
der\2.73\config\userpref.blend ok

File blender creates (usually) is called “blender.crash.txt”, not like 100% sure but i am not able to crash blender right now to check ;). It might have saved previously blend file name in if you try to open something you worked on before and have crash. Location should be default OS temp folder or place you have set in Userpref’s Files tab.
Have you tried to check if video is to blame like Bastien suggested here?
To clear blender’s preferences and maybe solve this -
-Blender installed (www.blender.org) or Blender daily builds-no matter, crashes equally.
-No file: blender.crash.txt
-factory-startup does not change anything
-yes, i did opengl32.dll-no change
-system-info.txt shows as generated but…sorry, cant find that file, some hint where please?
(Not in: Blender startup/install dir, User/ppdata/Roaminf/Blender_Foundation etc, /Temp, Appdata/Local/Temp…)
After crash Blender creates some folder in my Temp dir, like eg: blender_a08156 but its empty.
If User preferences are not touched at all, --factory-startup wont show anything different. If you had saved default scene where Cube is deleted already you would notice it’s return in usual place.
Sure, blender has worked on this pc, different OS and different blender’s version? Could you recall which version of the Blender did work last if this is so?
