Realistic paint drips in dynamic paint

So when painting with dynamic paint, I would like to paint drips be more random than having all of the paint drip down at the same time. I could technically try to use the fluid simulator but my control of the whole thing would go way down…

EDIT: I just tried using the fluid sim and… nope

add a force field that should work.

I tried adding some turbulence but that just spread the paint around. It looks nice but it doesn’t have the effect that I want…
