AKVIS Noise Buster - Opinions, assistance etc

Hi there,

I’m currently trying to find a nice ‘one click’ (Doesn’t have to be literally one click, but it needs to be quick ideally) solution for removing/reducing scene noise post-render.
This morning I ran a quick 1000 pass render and then ran it through AKVIS Noise Buster, I didn’t change any settings, just hit the ‘go’ button.
I’m wondering if anyone on here as any experience getting more out of the tool, better settings etc. I’m also wondering about general opinions on the comparison shot below in relation to the noise.
I noticed instantly that a lot of clear edges appear blurred, the effect of bump mapping has been reduced in some areas. But I’m looking with the eye of a 3D Artist, I’m wondering if the result is passable to the layman.

I certainly think it’s noticeable. You’ve lost most of the textures on the walls, and lots of other smeary problems.

BlenderCookie has lots of tutorials on helping to get rid of noise in renders. It’s worth checking out.
