This looks pretty good If you want to render realistic still images, maybe you should consider using the Cycles renderer. That would allow for more complex materials : I suggest to reduce the specularity and use subsurface scattering for the skin.

Yeah, Cycles is probably the thing that you’re looking for in this type of scene. Also, I would make the ground a lot more detailed, with rocks and maybe some mushrooms. You could just make a particle system for it them both. Maybe some sculpting on the walls would look good too. Some cracks and extrusions.
