Capping height of vertices in sculpt mode

Hi! I’m sculpting a subdivided plane, basically moving vertices up and down. There was a setting that would let me limit the height that the vertices could move upward (their distance from the plane), regardless of the strength, but I can’t find it now. I’m using Blender 27.2b. Thank you for your help

For the Layer brush there is the Heigh value

I think they mean absolute height. Meaning it would stay the same even across different strokes. As far as I know, there’s nothing like this.

EDIT: Looks like I’m wrong. Checking “Persistent” does something very close to this. Learn something new every day.

Thank you very much to both of you; exactly what I was looking for  I was working with Blob and Clay, and thought the height setting was available in all the brushes. Matthew, Yes, absolute height is what I needed, and I must check “Persistent” it to keep the same height across different and intersecting stokes. I learn something new every day too
