Creating Ice - Problem with the Ray Length Setup

Hey everyone,

I had tried the awesome Tutorial from Gleb Alexandrov http://www.creativeshrimp.com/create-realistic-ice-lighting-book-02.html about creating realistic looking Ice. I followed alonge all the things perfectly but my problem right know is that i dont get the expected results when i try to use the Ray Length Node Setup. So maybe somebody can tell me where my issue is.



Everytime i change the Value in the Hue/Saturation Node i got the feeling it dont change anything special so there is no blending between the Materials happening. So maybe somebody could look up my files and enlight me :slight_smile:

dont use a Mix Color node for multiplying Ray Length with Backfacing, use a Math Node instead.
