So I recently edited a bunch of clips from my camera in the VSE and exported the frames as .EXR files. Now I want to export them as a video file to do color-grading on them. What video format would you suggest as the one to choose (insofar as color quality, bit depth, etc.)?
Can you not use an exr image sequence for grading? I have them in blender / fusion / nuke / da vinci all fine. EXR image sequences will hold far more bit depth / information than any video codec will.
I suggest you to not compress images for the grading step. You will need the maximum quality file to push contrast and color without artefacts. Exr is commonly used.
Why not try color grading in Blender? Either in the VSE or via the compositor.
