Will more memory speed up Blender?

Hi,
lm working on a landscape project in Blender and have used 12 of the 16gb of ram installed (mainly by using Xfrog trees)
which has slowed my computer down almost to the point of being unusable, I’m wondering if adding more memory (up to 32gb) would help?

If not are there any other methods I could use which would speed up my system?

Thanks

CPU and GPU, that’s where you’ll get your speed boosts from.

If I’m not mistaken, you need a faster CPU for view port stuff with a lot of polys, what are your specs?

Sounds like you need a better CPU. The CPU is used to do all calculations, from sculpting, to modifiers, to all the under-the-hood stuff that makes Blender work. When you have a large number of polys, you will notice things start to slow down drastically. How many cores does yours have, what clock, etc?

The GPU is used purely for display/rendering, but if you want to render stuff faster, then that would be another good thing to boost.

One more thought: Put all your modifiers at the lowest possible level (Sub surf is the biggest one). That alone could help you out a lot.
