High velocities and why it's a problem

Hello,

I wonder if anyone you guys could help me?
I am writing about Blender fluid simulation and I have tried to find some reliable source where is explaining why high velocity is hard to compute for LBM. It would be really good if the text is not too technical with algorithms and such (I am writing as 3D-generalist :RocknRoll:)
I believe it’s because fluid mass moves from a to b so fast that there is no calculations what happens between.
