Replace simulation mesh

Working on a simulation that involves about a hundred dead dinosaurs being washed into a pit. The best way I could come up with is to basically roll them down a slope with a canted camera so it looks level. On Hollywood Camerwork’s VFX for Directors, they mention using low rez proxy models for simulations, then parenting the hi rez mesh to the baked animation. I tried this on a small scale and it worked great. My problem arises when I want to simulate all 100 animals at once. Is there a quick way to run and bake the sim with my low rez animals, then swap those meshes or replace them with the high rez ones? Also, would an array modifier be best to duplicate my low rez model for the simulation?

Okay, the ALT D worked great, but I’m having another problem with the sim. Quite a few of the rigid objects behave almost like a metaball. When they touch, they join together and spin around. Is there a fix for this?

Fixed it. Solved
