Multiple Vertices: How do I edit their X or Y or Z location so they all match

When I have selected several vertices and they are all on different Z location (lets say 1st is at 1.5, 2nd is at 1, and 3rd one is at .5), and I decide I want all of them on 1.4… So I insert “1.4” in the Z value… the Result: they all go to the AVERAGE of their values, in this case “1”… and not 1.4 that I want them all in. I then have to individually go and make each one 1.4 separately (very time consuming).

I asked this same question when I started with Blender about two years ago and I got no solution! I’m hoping there is one… some script or anything. This should be a basic feature I hope I’m just missing…

Select them all, Scale > Z > 0, then place the whole string where you want them to be. If you have one vert that’s already where you want it to be, then change your rotation point to “active element” and select that vert last.

That’s it! You get Blender Gold friend.
