Curve/Array Modifier creating unexpected result

For whatever reason I decided to model my antique oak kitchen table in blender today. I started off modeling the legs and the center pillar and used the combination of an array and curve modifier to get the legs distributed in a circular fashion around the pillar.

To my dismay I noticed a tapering effect where the inside of the legs is narrower than the outside which they should not be. Is there a way of avoiding this issue?

You wouldn’t use a curve modifier to do this. You can use an empty as the Object Offset object in the array modifier settings to make a circular array.

Or use dupliverts with a circle mesh to position them http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Doc:2.6/Manual/Modeling/Objects/Duplication/DupliVerts

Aha! Thank you, that works great.
