Christmas Scene

A scene I built for our family’s holiday greeting cards this year.

The integrator had a tough time with all the small lights in the scene, so I had to deal with the resulting noise with lots of samples and mean stacking in Photoshop for some portions. Used a little over 8000 samples and took about 92 hours to render. The hair system on the rug was crashing my GPU, so had to switch to CPU to render that separately. Took about 17 hours to render the rug with alpha channel.

I did most of the modeling. The floor’s base material and the couch are from the Blender Guru Architecture Academy starter pack. The base tree is from Blender Greenhouse. Could have used Sapling, but maybe next time.

Happy Holidays, everyone!

This looks very nice! Great job. Merry Christmas!

Thanks ShadowCamero. I certainly learned a lot making this scene.
