Joining mesh to create seamless loop

Hi everyone,

I’ve modeled a circle into a spring looking mesh via the screw modifier.

I’ve duplicated this mesh and rotated it to create a helix, and joined the two objects together.

I’m now attempting to seamlessly loop off the ends, and can’t seem to figure out how to do so.

I’ve tried to join the meshes together by alt + m for merging, but that is undesirable as they all converge to one vertex in the center.

Please advise or offer any suggestions as to how best achieve this.

Thank you all kindly in advance.

A couple of options

Bridge option in the Loop Tools addon

Fantastic Richard, thank you.

I was successful in bridging the two circular vertex groups together. However I’m still puzzled as to how to evenly smooth out the groups to create a nice even loop. See attached image.

Any thoughts?

Look in the operator panel at the bottom of the toolshelf (shown in my screenshots) for additional options when you use the bridge tool
