Problem: All fine in 3d view, but messed up renders

Hey guys, a newbie question here.

I’m really confused about what’s going on with my render. Everything looks fine in 3d view and my model has the proper texture in render as well. However, in render there is this black and white mess showing through the white parts of the textures. I don’t know if it’s geometry related problem, since subdivision surface modifier seems to affect the size of the artifacts.

If I had to guess it looks like z fighting, that’s when you have two identical meshes at the same location. Take a look in your outliner and make sure the viewport visibility (the eyeball) and the render visibility (the camera) are the same for each object. If thats the case then you have a situation like this:

where the whale-problem is visible in the render. So just make sure it’s viewport and render visibility are disbabled.

If it’s not that, dunno, post a blend.
