Active animated rigid body passes through passive rigid body?

I was wondering if anyone else knows what is going on here…

I set up a simple scene. One sphere , one cube. Sphere is active animated rigid body keyframed to crash into the cube. Cube is a passive rigid body. When the collision should occur, the sphere passes through the ball with no physical impact. However; when changing the cube to active rigid body; a proper collision occurs. I want the cube to remain stationary (thus the passive option) but the simulation does not seem to work in that case. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!

I think I have figured out my own question. This video helped me solve it… Anyways, if you have an object you dont want to have mobility; simply place it as an active body and then check the “enable deactivation” and “start deactivation” boxes under physics -> rigid body in the right hand window. This will keep the object deactivated until something is acted upon it.
