Painting with Multiple brushes onto multiple layers simultaneously : is it possible?

Good day Blender Enthusiasts.

We here are doing some fairly mundane 3d modelling, using texture brushes to paint onto our models using Blender’s 3d painting system (mostly using stencils).

We have separate layers for: Diffuse, Specular, Illumination and Normal. Our Brushes are similarly split, with a brush for each layer.

At the moment, we are forced to place the camera in a given spot, then paint onto the model using the stencil, before switching layers to the next one, switching brushes accordingly, and repeating the process the four times to end up with a completed segment.

What we ask you, Blenderites, is whether it is possible to paint onto all four layers with four different brushes simultaneously, this would do far more than quarter our texturing workflow, it’ll let us be a lot more creative, since moving the camera mid-workflow would misalign the textures and ruin the whole process.

There has to be a better way! SUP[/SUP]

We are aware that we could unwrap the UVs and use image editing software to work on the textures, but the models in question do not unwrap well, so we are wondering whether there is a system in blender that will help us in our task.

Thank-you all for your expertise in this matter.

Why should your models “do not unwrap well”? Yourself define how the object gets unwrapped! So you could use image editing software as well.

I didn’t find a way to deal with it, actually…:frowning: But just try around, that’s the best way…
