Hi,
I have a Amd Phenon II X6 1090T 3.2GHz black edition processor with about 12GB DDR3.
The mother board is Gigabyte GA-880GM-UD2H. I guess it supports PCI Express 2.0 x16.
I also have a AMD Radeon HD 6450 graphics card. (Which I feel is little inferior to the CPU I have)
I have a Windows 7.
I see my renders are not so quick. And also I dont get option to render by GPU(may be because its speed is less than CPU)
Can some one suggest me which graphics which is relatively midway in cost, but enhances my render performance/view port performance?
I highly recommend changing to nvidia as for cycles I think at the moment only CUDA can be used for rendering. Also AMD Radeon cards are rumoured to have buggy drivers but I don’t know for sure. I myself have a GTX 660 which works fine for all my Blender + Gaming needs, and if you have appropriate cooling it can run Battlefield 4 on ultra. As a side note though you want to make sure you have enough power to supply otherwise you can run into weird system freezes and restarts.
Also try get as much memory on the card as possible as this determines how large a scene you can render.
Do want a graphics cards just for blender or do you want a card for both gaming and blender?
For just blender the best card you can get is a Nvidia Quadro line graphic cards because the drivers are designed for 3d softwares an will be way faster than a normal graphics card for blender but won’t be as good with gaming.
Here is the most powerful card you can get for blender. NVIDIA Quadro K6000
Actually it’s not true. Quadro are more efficient to display very high poly objects in the viewport, but gaming cards are better for CUDA rendering in cycles.
Right now the most powerful card for blender is Titan Z, then 780ti.
Best value/price cards are GTX970 (for <$300) and GTX750ti (for <$150).
