How to attach paricle hair to a bone rig

Besides the trouble I am having with particle hair growing in different places that does not have a vertex assigned in render mode …How do you make a hair particles move with my bone rig?

  1. Make and name a vertex group where the hair should be, you can weight paint or assign vertcices manually.
  2. Assign that vertex group in the particle system as density
  3. In the particle system, check ‘use modifer stack’ (towards the top)
  4. Change stack order, this is a common and workable modifier stack order:

Top:
Armature
Subsurf (make preview and render the same, both 1 or both 2) or multires here
Particle system

You change the stack order using the up and down arrow widgets.

After all that is done you can conb the hair, or bake dynamics.
