Drop Shadow using ID Mask

I’m trying to toss a quick drop shadow under some hard-to-read text using ID Mask but I soon realized that I have no idea what i’m doing and don’t have time to make it work so if I can just toss it here that’d be great. Here’s a blend file: http://goo.gl/KSoFW6

Here’s one way to do it. Put the text and background on separate Render Layers. One branch of the text is darkened using a Brightness/Contrast node, then Mix Multiplied over the background. Another branch of the text is Alpha Overed on top of that. Use a Translate node to shift its position. You can Blur the shadow if you want.

ETA: I forgot to mention that you have to go to the Film tab in the Render Settings and check the Transparent box.

But seriously, this is an advice sub board. Not a “do my work for free” board. At least try to achieve something by yourself first.
