Blender to unity - how to optimize slow import?

At work I’m using .blends directly in a Unity-project. When i update something in blender, unity automatically updates, but the “import” has started to grow really slow. It could take up to a few minutes to update, which kind of messes up my workflow. The current .blend is about 5 mb and about 20k tris, which doesn’t feel terribly much for a complete environment, so I’m thinking maybe there’s a setting (maybe in unity) or something else dragging the process down. Ideas?

You’re right Proud, that doesn’t sound like a lot of tri’s.

Can you post a screenshot of your import settings in Unity? - one setting that would definitely slow things down is if you are generating lightmap UVs each time you reimport into Unity. Try unchecking this.

I use the export to fbx setting to allow for more control over when Unity updates

Its unfortunately not the import lightmap uvs, i unchecked it and its still slow as hell :frowning:
