Lens flare test. and question about lights.

Greetings.

I’m playing a little with lens flares. Since Cycles doesn’t support them, needless to say my lens flares are done with video composing.

In this test, I use a very strong point light - that affects energy and consequently video nodes - near the word “ZAO”. But now I have a problem. In Blender internal, I’d use a sphere lamp to shine only over the object I want, but is it possible in Cycles to make a light source affect only a certain object and not others, so they would not cause undesidered flares as well?

Thanks in advance.

Here’s a video of it (Facebook link)… https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10204471647944361

You do that by having two layers-

  1. For the objects that receives light and the light itself.
  2. For Objects that should not be affected by light.
and then in the second layer you can exclude the first layer(lights) so that it does not receive light.
Check out this example file-Lights.blend (591 KB)

Thanks!
