Adaptive mesh cloth simulation

I need to do a cloth simulation where the mesh is very stretched by another mesh, so the second one pass through the first one, with a static mesh I’ll need like a million polygons and over :eek:
It’s possible something like this in blender cloth simulation?

Or, maybe, how can I split automatically longest edges during the simulation? (Even python solutions)
