Add empty?

It’s been awhile since I used blender, I just downloaded the new version. I see the new tabs on the left side. I wanted to create an empty, in order to point my camera at it to make rendering easier (I’m just doing basic setups for drawing reference). But I can no longer find the add null/empty feature. I don’t see it under the create tab.

It also seems like if I don’t have an object selected in edit mode, I cannot add anything - that seems different.

Any help is appreciated.

Shift+A > Empty > Plain Axis (or whichever one you want)

By the way,if you select your camera, press Num0 and then in the right toolbar (N) you can click the lock camera to view option.it’s much easier to move your camera around that way.remember to disable it once you are happy with your camera view.

Hmm, I don’t get that in my menu:

But I think locking the view to camera will just work fine - that should work. Thanks!

You’re in edit mode. You have to be in object mode to add objects.

Oh right. Thanks!
